River Rafting at Yosemite National Park
River rafting at Yosemite National Park on the Merced River provides exhilarating views of Yosemite Valley. Many groups tend to include a river rafting trip at Yosemite National Park along with their over night visit to the park. The Merced River and theTuolumne River are situated within Yosemite National Park on the highest peak in Yosemite, Mount Lyell. They are both easily accessible to Yosemite visitors as the meeting places for the respective river rafting activities, are along the major roads that lead into Yosemite National Park
In early summer, rental rafts, complete with life jackets and paddles, are available at Curry Village.
River Rafting at Yosemite National Park - Information
Due to hazardous rapids and park regulations at Yosemite National Park, River Rafting is permitted only from Stoneman Bridge to Sentinel Beach Picnic Area. The Tuolumne River is the more popular of the two offering numerous high quality Class IV rapids in a secluded and stunning canyon. If you're looking for a quick one day river rafting trip, the Merced River is the one for you. If you would prefer a two or three day experience riding the rapids of Yosemite National Park, you'll want the Tuolumne River.

Rafting season is only available from early April through mid July-early August depending on snowpack.
